Family Farm Magriž: Krk’s Very Own Cheese

The island of Krk has an indigenous type of sheep’s milk cheese, of which they are very proud of, although there are not many producers left nowadays. And only recently has it been registered as a local delicacy.

Mrakovčić family takes Krk cheese very seriously. They produce several versions and their innovative approach to tradition has been patent protected. “Zeleni bodul” is sheep cheese with rosemary and the unique “Črni bodul” ages in walnut leaves. Magriž Farm regularly wins awards for their artisan cheeses, and yet they also manage to find time for producing olive oil and wine.
