Paintings made from melted ice cream

Baghdad Artist Othman Toma uses an array of melted food and sweet treats as the medium of his recent series of painting. Instead of using watercolors. he uses melted ice cream and popsicles to paint lovely portraits of animals and people. His collection includes minimalist-looking portraits of lions and tigers painted using melted orange popsicles and chocolate ice cream. Othman sees the melted ice cream as the perfect medium to experiment with different consistencies and shading. When photographing his collection, he includes the source of the “paint” into the composition, offering the viewers a glimpse into his ingenius process.
